RASIC, CARRASCO SPLIT WITH LOWE HUNT TO FORM OWN SHOP

CB Blog hears Lowe Hunt, Sydney creative director Dejan Rasic and creative Rebecca Carrasco are leaving the agency soon to form their own shop, probably structured on the lines of a Droga5 or Glue Society. It is believed the pair will be joined by another partner (or partners), which may be announced next week. No comment (at this time) was the reply from Rasic when CB called last night.
Rasic is currently ranked equal #1 creative on the CB Creative Rankings - based on the phenominal award haul from the LynxJet campaign launched in late 2005.
Carrasco only joined Lowe Hunt in December last year - before that she had been taking a break from advertising to take a course at Uni. She was previously at Saatchi & Saatchi, Sydney and Auckland and before that at Colenso BBDO in Auckland.

Nervous? Huh? Someone has spiked your chai, 8.04am

Sure these guys (even though we count them as mates and we wish them well) have turned out some reasonably tasty work, there is no escaping the inescapable fact that for every creative to leave a cushy gig, there is an arsenal of white hot talent waiting in reception.

Catch ya in Cannes.

Sounds like 10:04am was written by Lowe.

I love the way that Rasicarrasco is going to be "modeled on Droga5 and GlueSociety"....Does that mean that they are going to be world renowned, massively successful and incredibly well regarded, cos thats a big ask?

If so I am going to open a company modeled on Microsoft so I can model my income on Bill Gates'....

and before some one says "Chad youre a bolloxy wanker"....... I am

yeah sorry 10.04am.
Lowe is in such a hole and it can only get worse with Dejan and Rebecca leaving. The steep downhill slide started as soon as Ben Coleman left. The new mgmt came from Lowe NZ which has completely fallen over and likely not to be in existence for much longer. Keep dreaming through...

They'll just have to wheel Lionel out again.

Chad - you might want to read it again.

I don't think they actually said they're modelling anything on anything. In fact, I don't think they've said anything but 'no comment'.

But good to see the knives are at the ready.

who the fuck is 'toby and bec'? you sound like a suit. and 10.04 is right you sound like a suit from lowe. 'spiked your chai', 'tasty work', 'cushy gig' and 'white hot talent waiting in reception' screams nervous suits or nervous management. who else would say a creative team like that is disposable. you have your head up your ass. funny though.

Not many creatives can say they've got 30 print campaigns in their book (Multitudes of Cannes Golds, silvers and bronzes and then the rest being finalists). And that was before Dejan got to BMF (years ago now). He's the most professional hard working creatives I've ever worked with and he probably wouldn't be caught dead reading this crap from some of you monkeys (sorry Gorillas)... Well done Dejan onward and upward fella.

Side note. Most of you twats wouldn't even know what a business model is. Droga wasn't the first person to Set up an ideas shop and neither were glue star fuckers.

Peace in the Middle East x

2.03. Firstly you need to give your name back to the porn star. Secondly “…probably structured along the lines of droga5 or the glue society…” sounds like something CB has taken a guess at not something they said. I’ve worked with them both and good as those shops are I don’t think they’ll be out to structure it on anything but the work that they like doing. They’re not the kind of people to go out trying to copy what has been done before.

Dejan and Bec, you two will snag it and your clients will love you.
So sad to see Lowe stuff it up when they had the world at their feet. Bad judgement on their part but it didn't need to be a sinking ship!

Who are Toby & Bec?

Toby West is the lovechild of former advertising wonderkind Andrew North and American jazz bass legend Nathan East.

Bec Brunacello is a talented winger who's subbing for the injured Anthony Minicello in Wednesday night's rugby league State of Origin match under the surname soundalike rule.
