LYNX SHOWERS WITH A RUBBER DUCKY

Lowe Hunt Sydney recently produced a 15” television commercial for Lynx Shower Gel which is scheduled to run in Australia and New Zealand on Foxtel, TVNZ and Prime TV.
It features an innocent rubber ducky that drifts unwittingly into a shower occupied by an amorous young couple. Shocked and embarrassed, the ducky floats straight back out covering its eyes with its wings.
Says Dejan Rasic, Creative Director of Lowe Hunt: “Using a rubber ducky was the perfect tie in to Lynx Shower Gel. It tackles the LYNX strategy in an unexpected way”.
The Lynx ‘Ducky’ TVC was written by Simone Brandse and directed by Three Drunk Monkeys at Luscious International.

Client: Sharon Parker, Marketing Director of Deodorants, Unilever
Brief: Lynx Shower Gel
Agency: Lowe Hunt, Sydney
Creative: Simone Brandse
Creative Director: Dejan Rasic
Director: Three Drunk Monkeys
Production Company: Luscious International

SHOWER GEL - not Bath Gel.
Rubber Ducks are for baths. Is she having a shower with the plug in? Or is it floating in a sea of Lynx cum.
Stoopid.

kinda cool.

given the lynx strategy though, it's kinda easy.

The linx/axe brand guardians are obviously running thin on pushing the idea if this is what we're seeing now.

However there was the recent lateral execution from o.s. that had a vsiual of a room with a lot of holes in the ceiling and a broom sitting against a table in the room. As borat would say, "very niiice!"

The rubber duck idea is kinda average in the scheme of things, though i'd like to have it on my reel none-the-less.

I like how it suggests raunchy sex without showing a hot half-naked girl.

I think the duck was more ashamed about being in the ad. Not your best work Simone.

I think 12:07pm is overthinking things.

I reckon it's cute - and I'm a big smelly hairy Kiwi (bloke).

Made me laugh. Females will like it.

Go Lowe.

Well done lowe. One of the few agencies doing anything worth looking at. ignore the sad fuckers who spend their lives dissing people on this blog.

Nice simple spot shot on a shoe string budget I'm sure. Well done Monkeys and Lowe.

It's cute I guess. But not great.

BTW: Girls don't giggle like that!!! Is she laughing at how small it is perhaps?

12:07 is right. It just doesn't make sense. Is it a shower or a bath?
I'm surprised the suits didn't pick up on this - who's the GAD on the account? Helen Keller?

I have to agree with 12.07 & 1.20pm.

Ducks for baths not showers, a bit of a stretch and yeah given the brand, a bit easy really. Sorry, just my opinion.

it's funny reading the comment "It's no Lynxjet is it" (9:17am). Talk about stating the fucking obvious. It's clearly not intended to be the next Lynxjet - it's a clever simple 15 second spot.

I think it's really cute as I sit here confronting what is possibly the shittiest brief in history. Must go and confront ...

"Is it a bath, or a shower"?
Jesus Christ you guys need to get a life.
Getting to do stuff like this, just for fun, is what keeps most of us sane. (I'm assuming this was a 'love' job) Those of you who complain obviously don't have the drive or opportunity to do so.
(And no, I don't work at Lowe)
Keep smiling.

i'm neither here nor there with this one. I'm unmoved. Someone mentioned that girls would like it. And that would be relevant why?

8:40 - "Ducks are for baths not showers" do you realise how stupid that sounds? I mean talk about over analysing. I don't know about you but i always get some water in my bathtub when i'm showering or is it just that my plumbing is not great. Fuck who cares just enjoy the ad which is rather nice i reckon.

12.41 - Analysis yes, over analysis no. If we can't produce ideas that make sense then what the fuck are we doing?

An idea only has relevance if it is based on some kind of truth and rubber ducks are for baths not showers.

I am finding work with no substance a little tedious.

Having said that, it is a nice simple idea.

The duck has obviously come walking out of the bath for a look round and gone into the shower. So that's fine.

It's a fine little spot, quite nice, but let's be honest, bathroom product brief- how long's it going to be before you get to a rubber duck idea? Not long. feels very familiar.

Hey 9:05AM, In actual fact, the shittiest brief in history is in front of me, thank you very much.

The duck should have stayed at the COMO where it belongs. And they want their bath robes back too fuckers.

The shower is in the bath (it's combined) - quite a commong thing in most homes. So i don't have a problem with the duck being there because it would naturally be in that environment regardless.
For me it's a nice idea. I actually disagree that the brief is easy - especially with the amount of great stuff done for Lynx. It's probably the hardest brief in town.

anybody seen the imperial leather stuff? This is ad is oh so similar me thinks. Ask Danny BT.

Lowe seem to be doing okay work. Lynx jet was great, really great.

NZ MTV was average at best, no where near the mighty smugglers! Lovce that.

How nice is it that we dont have to make an "ad" all the time. Just brand things with tone of voice. Nice.

Lowe should be top of the creative tables with the client list they have. Lets see it happen lads.

I'd like to have the amount of awards those guys have won this year. I doubt i'll win that in a lifetime.

Deja view: This idea has been done before. For Imperial Leather. And it was average then.

Yeah - this spot blows. I'll give anyone a handjob if it gets onto any award shortlists. Given the amazing work for Lynx around the world I'd be burning the midnight oil trying to come up with a half decent ad. This one looks like it was scribbled on the back of a napkin over lunch the first day you've got the brief.

I had a hard time believing that the same person who did this, did Lynx Jet. But then I looked at the credits on Lynx Jet and there were A LOT more creatives involved. So there's the answer. This is a nice spot for a junior creative. But unlike Lynx Jet, which had a great idea, this is just an execution. Nice enough for what it is, but it won't win anything and it doesn't deserve to.

Dear 7:53PM. Please post a picture of your hand before I take you up on your offer.

The issue isn't whether it's a shower or a bath but rather why the duck should be embarrased when it sees naked people. It must be a religious fundamentalist. Now that's an issue.
