WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CLEMS MELBOURNE?

CB hears there's a radical overhaul coming up early next week at Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne. Even before that news is released, one senior creative is believed to have departed on Friday. Stay tuned to the CB Blog next week.

That spot on the map is actually Grey. Clems is on the other corner or it was when I was there the day before yesterday.

Before the news actually comes through (hopefully Monday) has anyone got a nice pic of the Clemenger building so I can replace that crap map? Email: michael@campaignbrief.com

Apparently Mike O'Sullivan is being brought in to shake the place up!

They are renovating the creative
department and apparently keeping some of the more senior creatives
whilst making some major 'hot' new signings...

That place is in a lot of trouble. It has been a revolving door for good suits and creatives for quite a while. They've lost quite a lot of business too. It's a shame David Blackley left. It's never been the same since...

I heard that a leading female creative from this century is being replaced by a leading male creative from the last century. Sounds like a sensible board decision.

Emma Hill is quite hot isn't she?

She's also quite talented, but one can't help but think that she was given too much responsibility too soon with the departure of Mike O'Sullivan. A hard burden to shoulder at the best of times, but particularly after O'Sullivan had been in and decimated one of the most solid creative departments in Australia. A mature creative director knows the value of delegation and should have a department capable of accepting that responsibility. I don't think she had the department to do it.

Thus leaving her somewhat exposed and without a powerbase when she was challenged. The agency losing clients left right and centre didn't help either.

I heard the dreamteam of Josh Robbins & James Proctor are being brought into joint CD HMS CLEMENGER to steer it away from the ever closer creeping iceberg...
